In the beginning...

Circa 2008

Way back toward the beginning of 2008 a thought suddenly came to me...

Where are the MVC starter kits?

MVC Starter Kits was spawned on this very thought. There are plenty of ASP.NET web forms starter kits available and I thought, why not make them and many other for the ASP.NET MVC platform? So I registered the domain name and away I went.

First incarnation was a blog

I wanted to put something up quickly for the community to view and download and the easiest thing to do at the time was to put up a blog with articles of sample applications. So I downloaded BlogEngine.NET and I started writing some simple applications.

Why can't I find stuff?

While I was still learning ASP.NET MVC, I kept punching away at Google or some other resource to try and find an answer to a question or problem I had about MVC. I really wished that there was one central location that had information about the MVC framework. And that's when it hit me.

Why don't I build it? I found that MVCCentral.com, .net and .org were available so I decided to register the domain names and build the application myself.

And MVC Central was born!

My hope is that the community sees the value in MVC Central and helps consolidate information about MVC here.

All MVC Flavors are welcome.

Even though I'm an ASP.NET developer, I've decided to make this site framework agnostic. MVC Central will allow developers of any MVC framework to post articles, kits, videos, etc., to help those seeking information, to have a central location to find the information they are looking for.

I'm always open to suggestions on how to make MVC Central better. Just drop me a note and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
