Why was MVC Central created?
MVC Central was created primarily out of frustration that I had to comb through search engine results and weed through blog posts or web site articles to try to find an answer to my MVC related questions. I wondered why there couldn't be a central location for all-things MVC. And then I thought, "There can be!", and then MVC Central was born.

Where does the content come from?
The content comes from developers like you. If you, as a developer, have written an application or even a bit of code that you think solves a problem other developers have labored over, post your solution here and offer it to the world. The more developers that become MVC Central authors, the more centralize the information that you are looking for becomes.

Does this cost anything to join and become a Member?
No, this is completely FREE! We want to keep content like this free, since we believe it should be. We are trying to offset costs of hosting and other expenses by selling advertising. This way the community always benefits.

What are the open-source solutions licensed under?
The open-source solutions in the Kits section are licensed under whatever license the author chooses. The license for the Kits are not marshalled by MVC Central.

Why should I post an article here? I have many articles in my blog already.
If you have written many MVC related articles on your web site or blog, we don't expect you to re-post those entire articles here, especially if they have code blocks and images. But you should post at least a short article that discusses your own articles and then include a link to your blog posting. This not only provides MVC Central with more content, but it also provides another place developers can find your postings.

I uploaded a file. I went back a few minutes later and it wasn't available. Why not?
All files that are uploaded to MVC Central, whether they be zip files for your Kits, or videos, are uploaded to the server and the pushed to our CDN (content delivery network) asynchronously. Depending on the size of the file, it could take a few minutes to nearly a half and hour. So please be patient. If its a smallish file and doesn't appear after 30 minutes, contact us and we'll investigate.

I can't find an article or tutorial that answers my questions. What now?
If you can't find an answer, it's most likely due to the fact that our site is still young and lacks complete content at the moment. But you can post your question in our Forums and someone should be able to answer your questions there.
I've posted an article and checked it as Published, but it doesn't appear in the site. Why not?
For the time being, all postings whether articles, videos, kits, etc., will go through an adminstrator review before going live. This is to ensure that the content is appropriate and not intending to violate our security. Once we have reviewed your posting and it doesn't seem like a security risk, we will enable it and it will be available to the public. This process will generally occur the same day. Depending on the amount of postings pending, it could take longer.
